Armor Trinkets: Why is Unidentifiable Organ so good yet no one used Glyph in ToC?

Because kalon called me out on not posting enough!

So!, what suddenly made armor good again? Simply put, fight mechanics. Let us take a trip down memory lane back to ToGC25 and what killed tanks:
  • NRB: Bleed ticks+melee+impale+stomp in under a second, once you reach this threshold armor was actually better.
  • LJ: 10 stack fireballs not being interrupted
  • FC: Cat gear!
  • Twins: lots of magic damage
  • Anub: Enough HP to survive a melee+slash+ leaching swarm tick then armor became better
Now, lets look at ICC:
  • LM, Healer getting spiked = dead tank
  • LDW: I actually use double stam trinkets here
  • Gunship: I use DPS trinkets here actually if I do not go over, double stams if I do go over because of the bleeding throw
  • DBS: armor
  • Festergut: 3stack melee swings
  • Rotface: melee swings during explosion and healers moving
  • PP: again death to melee while healers are moving
  • Blood Prince Council: no real tank killer here, roll cooldowns when keleseth is empowered to let the healer get more heals on the warlock tank by having to worry less about you
  • Blood Queen: Again no real tank killer, if healers are moving when she lands you may need to hit cooldowns while they position
So, even if you do not have the Putricide trinket, glyph is still better than any combination of stam trinkets you can use on most fights. That said Heroic Satrina's/Jug's Vit is better than the badge stam trinket.

As for the organ itself, I have found the uptime to be TERRIBLE! On putricide it likes to drop every time he casts an experiment, on lanathil she turns to do her abilities enough that it does not stay up consistantly, same with slime spray on rotface. Festergut it is actually pretty good though. Any boss with a casted ability (shock vortex on council and bone spikes on morrowgar) will see a terrible uptime as well. The armor is good enough to negate that but I am extremly disapointed by the equip.

Finally I realized this turned into more of a "how to survive the tank killer abilities" post but whatever.

  1. I generally run an avoidance trinket on Festergut and Deathbringer Saurfang. For Saurfang, you are trying to limit his accumulation of Blood Power. For Festergut you are trying to slow down how fast he build Gastic Bloat. Both can be avoided.

Our early attempts on BPC, usually had tanks dying to melee swings, so I wanted the Glyph. But as we got better its now our mage 'dropping the ball' that wipes us.

I'm a Paladin so I don't know if that has an impact on the attractiveness of various trinkets.

  2. It has been confirmed that avoided attacks still give him blood power.

    Clever.

  4. Hey dark, what is your opinion on the corpse tongue coin? Of course all trinkets are situational but I would like to hear your opinion on the coin.

Does the above quote apply to Warriors and DKs as well? I play a bear and wear Satrina / Glyph in ICC 25 for every boss except LDW (we have progressed up to Professor). Lately, I have been wondering about the trinkets our Warrior and DK tank choose to wear in ICC, but I feel I may not know enough about their classes to say they use crappy trinkets / trinket combinations. I normally see the Warrior wearing Satrinas & Corpse Tongue Coin or Satrinas & Brewfest, and the DK typically goes with Satrina & Corpse Tongue or Onyxia Blood Talisman & Corpse Tongue.

These are poor choices for Warriors and DKs as well correct? I agree with you that Corpse is crap, but they don't think to think so, and I don't even think the Warrior has purchased Glyph.

  6. I dunno, i think I would personally run double avoidance trink for gunship going over. The key area there is dodging his attacks so he doesn't power up.

Where does "The Black Heart" fit into this? RAWR seems to value TBH pretty highly. What are your thoughts on the trinket?

  8. HE GETS STACKS BASED ON TIME NOT BY HOW OFTEN HE HITS!

god people are so horrible misinformed about things it sickens me that blizzard allows you complete scrubs to kill content

  9. The bosses (Muradin/Suarfang) gain their stacking damage buff everytime they hit a player.

The adds, however, gain their damage buff over time.

  10. Use avoidance on saurfang for one reason. Tank damage there is minimal and mindless. Every hit you avoid is a heal that can go to someone else in the raid... blood nova, boil, mark. Saurfang is like the jaraxxis of ICC. It's the adds that will ruin your day.
